Charly's First Haircut

I'd never have guessed that Charly would have a luscious head of hair by her first birthday. Poor girl only had peach fuzz when she was born.

Now, at almost a year, her hair is long enough for pigtails! I decided it was time for a trim when her bangs started looking like this:

Crazy long. And she won't keep a clip in them. The pigtails fare alright, but any clip in her bangs meets and untimely demise. 

Enter mom armed with scissors. I trim my own bangs all the time, so I figured I'd be ok at it. Matt was there to hold/restrain her and hopefully keep her from wiggling too much. 

Snip snip.

A little shorter than I anticipated (apparently cutting them wet = hair shrinkage) but I think they look adorable! 

She totally looks toddler now, which I have mixed feelings about. 

If she pulls her pigtails out it gets "party in the back" pretty quickly, so baby mullet happens from time to time. Either way though she looks GROWN UP!
