We're Back!

Sorry for the lack of posts this week! We were in Utah through Monday and I just haven't been able to get my game together and post about our trip. I have, however, been working on a few projects (!) that I will post about soon.

Our trip went much too quick. Usually our trips to Utah are longer, over the holidays, and jam-packed with stuff. This one was still jam-packed, but not overwhelming. It was nice to have a quick getaway and see family again. We'd been visiting about once a year, but now that there is a grandchild involved I'm not sure what we'll do!
Charly and I waiting at the airport. Our flight was delayed- of course.

Watching the planes

Charly was a rockstar on our flights, both there and back. There was one short period on the last flight back where she cried, but once Matt got up and walked her around she zonked out. Poor little thing was tired!

Friday was a busy day, and it is well documented:

We met up with some of Matt's family for breakfast at the Blue Plate Diner- We saw this place on the Food Network once!

Greek Style Eggs Benedict!

Great Uncle D with Charly

Matt, Steve and Charly. I love this pic!

Matt and I, great aunt Linda, Charly, Candice and Joe.

Not sure what happened between these two pictures, but Candice, Linda and I are definitely reacting.

Charly looks so cool.

Not the greatest picture, but I can just imagine what is being said here. Steve and Dennis love to harass each other :)

After breakfast we went to the zoo to meet up with my family, but we got there early (or rather, everyone else was late) so we walked across the street to 'This is the Place' Monument, where we took a blurry photo:

We also took a blurry photo of us at the zoo. Man, what is going on?!

One of my favorite things about the Hogle Zoo from my childhood is this drinking fountain, no longer functional, but still fantastic.

Kenzie- such a poser:)

Kaiden, Charly, Kenzie and I with the elephants. Just moments after this the momma elephant relieved itself and the baby elephant (so cute!) decided to eat its mother's excrement. Gross.

Chelsie snuggled with Charly.

This is how most of the weekend went; wherever Charly was, she was sure to be surrounded.

Uncle Josh finally meeting Charly

Another one of my favorite childhood zoo things is this- groundhogs run around this area and you get to peek your head up at them. Naturally I had to snag a pic.

Matt checking it out with Charly.

Chels and Kenz with their new zoo umbrellas from the 'zootique'. What nerds.

After the zoo the gals did spa/girly stuff and the guys went shooting. I didn't document either. Sorry folks.

I also did not document any of Saturday! I know, lame. We ran errands to prepare for the blessing, played some rock band 3, and went to a family get-together for Matt's extended family.

Sunday was Charly's blessing, and the only pictures I have of it are with Matt and I before we left for church. I know others have some of the darling decor for the dinner that my mom made and of Charly with other family, but I don't have any of those yet. These next few will have to suffice for now:

And just for kicks, a picture of Charly with Grandpa

and one with Nana

and just because I can, this mullet picture of Matt. Those *might* be my sister's hair extensions.

It was so fun, way too short, but we are so glad we were able to go! One thing is for sure- all that attention tired this little girl out!
