Storage Solution

Today I'm sharing another project finally checked off my to-do list- diaper storage for the nursery. Since we started cloth diapering I've been in need of another diaper storage solution. I had a cute basket for disposables, but since cloth take up much more space, my measly basket just wasn't cutting it. I got the idea of using an over-the-door shoe holder (you know, the kind with all the pockets) from my mom. She uses one in the bathroom to hold lotions, hairspray, and brushes. I figured I could use one to store my diapers, cloth wipes, diaper creams and lotions.

I had quite a time trying to find one that wasn't plastic, for some reason, so we ended up buying two of these wall pockets from Ikea and hanging them one above the other. Because the pockets are larger than the ones on a shoe holder we are able to fit our diapers better.

The empty pockets normally hold cloth diapers, but some were already dirty.

This type of storage is great for small items- think army guys, barbie clothes, binkies, hair bows, socks- all that small stuff that is hard to wrangle. It could hold snack items in the pantry, or even craft supplies like ribbon, scissors, glue sticks...the possibilities are endless!

It could be hung lower so kids could put thing away themselves. Ours is hung higher to keep all that stuff off the floor and out of the reach of little hands... a good thing around here, since this little girl is just about on the move!
