11 Month Update

Our little girl is growing up so fast. She gets more and more personality every day. She's a wild little girl and hard to keep up with, but her zeal and love of life is infectious.

Ready to go out in the cold!

What Charly Does:
  • She took her first step, but that is about all she has done so far. She is getting more confidence and standing on her own more frequently and for longer periods of time.
  • She can make some animal noises, but doesn't get them just right, but that's funny and endearing to me.
  • She is getting better at waving and blowing kisses, so we can add that to the list of tricks she does.
  • She now realizes she needs to tip her sippy cup up to get anything out of it.
  • We have been doing some sleep training and our lovely little dear is sleeping through the night mostly and is doing better at putting herself to sleep. I can't tell you how nice it is to get a full night's sleep. No more waking up 2 or 3 times and taking an hour or two getting her back to bed. No more sleeping in our bed and kicking me in the back :) We are also cutting her naps down to one. That on the other hand is not going so well, but we are making progress.

Just crusing around!
 What Charly Loves:
  • She will spend more time just playing by herself which gives Holli time to get some stuff done.
  • Charly loves shoes! She tips over the shoe basket, picks up two shes by the laces (one in each hand) and carries them around with her.
  • She also loves books. She will spread out all of her books on the floor in her room and spend a half an hour just turning pages.
  • She loves being around people especially kids.
  • Charly loves to talk and always has something to say, even if she is screeching or making this spitty buzzing noise that Holli hates.
  • She's a good little eater for the most part and eats almost anything we eat.

The daily shoe routine

Playing with her books
She's a little Diva with a mind of her own. We were at a friend's house for their daughter's 1st birthday and they had a tiara on the floor. So, Charly crawls over to it, looks at it for a second and then instinctively puts it on her head. She has never seen a tiara or a crown before, nor has she seen one in a book or on TV that I know of. But the inner Diva in her knew what to do. That and her love of shoes clues me into what I have to look forward to. So that is Charly in a nutshell and we can't wait to see what next month has in store!
