As I said, Charly's development = crazy. In a good way. She is learning so quickly I can't keep up with what words she knows anymore. She's become even more determined/funny/sweet/talkative/mobile/playful and it is a blast to see it all happen. Some things about Charly at 13 months (and a week or so...)
- She talks. A lot. She says more words than I can remember, but some of her favorite words are: bath (bah- she practically runs to the bathroom when we mention bath and laughs and bounces next to the tub), Elmo (Melmo), book (buh- by far her most said word), hair or hat (ha- and she pats her head while she says it), hi, bye-bye, night night, snack (nat- said with intensity, always)
- She is fast! She moves so quick now. She'll walk with her hands resting on the small of her back sometimes- it is so awkward and funny to watch.
- She loves Elmo more intensely than ever
- She laughs in anticipation when she sees something she likes or wants
- Charly loves to test her limits. She thinks 'no' is funny- but I can give her the "I'm really serious about this one" look and she knows to stop
- She is very aware of when I am upset with something she has done and will fuss and want to snuggle.
- Putting things in other things is very amusing to her right now. I'm using this interest to teach her to clean up her toys in hopes that she'll get in the habit early.
- We've introduced silverware. She likes trying to use it but by the end of the meal she usually resorts to using her hands. I'm fine with that. I figure once she's ready she'll make the transition.
- She loves books so much! First thing when she wakes up in the morning she says "buh, buh, buh" until we get her a book. In fact, just as I was typing that sentence she woke up from her nap requesting books!
- Her love of books has expanded to being read books, instead of just flipping the pages endlessly.
- She sometimes says two-word combinations, like dada wawa (dad's water) and baby buh (a book of baby faces)
- she still plays well independently but LOVES other kids.
- She is sleeping great through the night and taking good naps still
I'm sure I"m missing some important stuff, but overall Charly is just fun! She's more toddler every day! We sure love this little gal!
