A Brunswick Adventure

We have all been really busy lately, well not Caroline, she just kind of lays there. In a break from the crazy we decided to get out and have an adventure.

The leave are starting to change here. It's about time too. This fall has been warm and because of that, the leaves haven't really changed. It's been getting Holli down; she loves fall...a lot. To top it all off, today was supposed to be sunny and in the mid 60s.

We decided to go to a little town about 40 minutes north of us called Brunswick. Pulled in by the scenic fall drive and quaint little town we headed out ready for adventure.

Our first stop was the Brunswick Heritage Museum. We read that it had a lot of kid friendly activities. Having kids has change the focus of our adventures. So anything kid friendly is a huge plus. It was a little low budget and not the most exciting place, but they did a good job of adding in a lot of kid friendly activities and you can tell they put some thought into it.

They had a huge train model on the 3rd floor. Charly really liked it and it was really cool. The model was of the B&O railroad line and all the towns it goes through.

They also had a little section to see the history of the town and had some dress ups, which Charly loved of course!

For lunch we went to a little cafe and coffee shop called Beans in the Belfry. It is in an old historic Lutheran church and has that comfy warm coffee shop vibe, but with vaulted ceilings and lined with stain glass windows. It didn't hurt that the food was really good also.

Another bonus they had a kids corner with a bunch of books, toys and of course dress ups! Charly was in heaven as you can tell!

Finally we did what Holli does best...buy secondhand stuff. They had an antique shop that was going out of business. So they were selling everything 50% off. They were probably the nicest people I ever met. Holli scored a mid century bench/footstool thing for $6.50. Boo yea! The kids did great and I think everyone really enjoyed themselves. Mission accomplished!
