Ok Blog readers we have a problem. There seems to be a lack of commenting and/or a lack of interest on the food posts. My last post “Huevos Rancheros mis amigos” had zero comments! ZERO! Did the Spanish scare you? I know Holli’s posts are a lot more fun and who wouldn’t want to comment on a picture of our sweet little girl? But people, we can’t let Holli win! Maybe my posts aren’t spicy enough or maybe our readers don’t like to cook, but I need a little more interaction from you folks (even the blogstalkers). Give me some feedback. Do I need to put more basic less adventurous recipes up? Do you want more desserts? How can I make this better?
In an effort to elicit more interaction from our readers I have decided to let you vote for what dish you want to see on the blog. All the contestants are foods that I have been wanting to make, but can’t decide on. With your help and votes I will make the winner and post a food blog about it. We will start with a main course, the next week we will vote on a side dish and the final week we will do dessert! If all goes well maybe I can make this a regular thing.
I would also like to know if you have tried any of the recipes that I have posted. I would love to know how it turned out and how you liked it. But without further ado our lovely contestants……
Our 1st Contestant is a delicious Peach and Gorgonzola Chicken Pizza with Arugula Salad!
As peach season arrives this seems like the perfect slice of summer. The sweet peaches with the tangy cheese and the peppery arugula sounds like a nice light summery meal. Pros: Ready in 30 Minutes and 2 slices will only cost you 44 calories and 3.6g of fat (So I can fit into my summer thong) Cons: Holli won’t let me get a summer thong L
Our next contestant is Pasta Carbonara
I have been drooling over this pasta for some time now. With bacon butter and egg it won’t help you slim down and get sexy, but the pasta is sexy in and of itself. I want to slip into a bacony-butter-carb induced coma right now. You can use any pasta you want but I will be using a bucatini pasta. It’s like a really long macaroni noodle….look it up. This is a pretty simple pasta dish, so don’t let it scare you. Did I mention Bacon? Nuf’ said.
Our next contestant is Indian Butter Chicken.
With butter in the name you can’t go wrong. I have been getting my ethnic food on a little bit while I am here, and have been finding myself more and more in the mood for Indian food. This looks creamy and delicious and I would love to build up an arsenal of quick tasty Indian dishes.
Our final contestant is Broiled Tenderloin Steaks with Ginger Hoisin Glaze.
Since we can’t have a BBQ at our new place…sniff…sniff…This sounds like a great alternative to get me through my favorite season of the year…Grilling Season! Steak is my #1 favorite food and I would eat it every day if I could afford it. We have a fire place…I wonder if I can use that as a grill...see future post “My husband burnt down our apartment and now we are homeless.” Good thing this recipe calls for an oven.
Please vote for your favorite recipe. The polls will stay open until Monday (May 2) and standard text rates do apply. This is going to be awesome people I can’t wait!
