I'm almost embarrassed to show you.
You really want to see it?
Ok, but don't make fun of me, deal?
I think it is an old headboard. I'm imagining it belonged to some behemoth of a waterbed. Can you picture it? Who decided waterbeds were a good idea, anyway? I digress.
Anyway, I wish I had a picture of it all propped up by the dumpster. Candice and I spotted it as we were leaving for the outlets (I go there frequently, in case you haven't noticed) when we saw it in all its doomed-for-the-dumpster glory. We jumped out, put it in the back of our parked truck so the boys could haul it up to the third floor later, and were on our way. I called Matt eagerly to tell him about my new find. He of course had seen it as he was on his way out to the movies and couldn't believe I picked it up. He asked what I was going to do with it, and I had to tell him I really don't know yet, but I gave him a 'just trust my vision' pep talk and said goodbye. He still thinks I'm nuts, but I figure it is either going to be an awesome statement piece for FREE, or it is going to flop, and end up right back where we found it. Either way, worth a shot, right?
I think its kinda fun. We have a lot of boxy/masculine furniture, so I think this could bring a feminine tone to things. We'll see. I have an idea now of where it will end up (mainly because it is the only spot I think it will fit in our house) but I'll wait to tell you until we get a little further and have something to show you. One thing is for sure, those mirrors have got to go!
Pretty little flower detail, right?
So what do you guys think, am I off my rocker? Or do you have a vision for this beast? Please share if you do... I could use some ideas!
Anyone else have a crazy dumpster diving/thrifting/yard sale-ing find?
