Brave

Our little locally owned movie theater sadly closed its doors for good on Labor Day. We've grown to appreciate their $3 Thursday and first-run movies, so we were sad to see it close. We took the opportunity to take Charly to her first movie in the theater on closing day.

We told Charly all day that we were going to the movie theater, we were going to watch Brave, and Matt even showed her a few previews. We knew going in that there were some scary parts so we came prepared with things to distract her during those, and also to keep her attention should she get totally bored after half an hour. Between the movie, coloring books, popcorn, and marshmallows (which she now calls "mothellos" instead of mushrooms, for those who saw my status on facebook) she was entertained for the duration of the movie. She especially loved the snacks. She even managed to master the skill of reaching her buttery paws in to the popcorn bag without breaking eye contact with the screen.

Two weeks later she is still talking about this day on a regular basis. Wat Brave. Poccown. Movie feetah. So Brave. Etcetera, and so on an so forth.

Just today we drove downtown and she recognized that the road we were on led to the theater and started talking about it again. Looks like we'll have to see another movie soon!
